A REVIEW FOR MICHELLE KNIGHT'S MEMOIR "FINDING ME"
While surfing the web, I crossed a blurb that mentioned that Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus would be releasing a true crime book which would detail the events surrounding their 10 year abduction. My first question was, "What about Michelle?" I was covered with solemn because I recalled that Michelle Knight was the one victor ;) that did not have a family seeking her during the years of her disappearance. Michelle also didn't have a family home to return to once she was released from the hospital. On top of that, she was in the hospital for an extended stay because her injuries were more severe than the other women. She really got the short end of the stick and now that the women are free and seeking happiness, it seemed like things weren't changing at all.
I immediately wanted an update on Michelle Knight for I hoped to find that she was doing well. I did a short search and found that she has actually been the most visible out of all 3 women. She has provided multiple interviews and had actually already released her own book! Her appearances revealed the following:
I'm not going to shower you with information on the interviews as this blog is supposed to be about the book. So, I will continue. As I listened to Michelle, I was introduced to a very strong, independent, smart and humble young woman that is striving to do everything that her capture would have lead her to believe were impossible. I was intrigued, inspired and I wanted to support her.
Although Michelle Knight's memoir of the cleveland kidnapping was in the true crime section, it is actually a well rounded book. It covers her childhood, which hints as to why that dude treated her so poorly. The provides and overview on what she went through in that house of horrors without being too morbid or disrespectful to the other women's privacy and in the end it finally lets me know how she is doing. The book shares the following:
I couldn't put the book down and I finished it in a couple of days. It helps to put things into perspective and it is a real inspiration. Not only is this book a great read, but it's an easy way to support Michelle and other people that have suffered similar fates. It is also an eye opener.

- Michelle Knight is the reason Amanda Berry's daughter is alive today
- Michelle Knight does not have an ongoing relationship with either Amanda or Gina DeJesus
- Michelle Knight has not been able to regain custody of her son

- We learn why murder was included in the dude's charges
- We learn about the status of the women's relationship
- We learn about situations in that house that are too graphic to mention in interviews
